Status for ALL
We stand with Migrant Worker's Alliance for Change in demanding Status for ALL, through the immediate regularization of all migrants currently in so-called Canada. We are a part of the Migrant Rights Network, as a chapter operating under Migrant Students United. Migrants have for too long been discriminated against and excluded from the welfare state by the Canadian government, and within our own universities. Precarious and temporary status leaves millions at risk of deportation and exploitation. Everyone deserves a right to live in so-called Canada without fear. For too long, migrants have been left out of healthcare, been exploited by employers and persecuted by the state. This will not stand.
WHAT DO WE WANT?
STATUS FOR ALL!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT?
NOW!
Migrant Students United at UBC
Migrant Students United at UBC was a grassroots-led group at UBC advocating for more rights on campus and beyond for all migrants. UBC has a history of neglecting the rights of racialized migrant students and enabling the global narrative of using international students as cash cows. The university impedes on migrant students ability to find financial support while continuing to impose the largest increases to tuition rates. The migrant student community has had enough, our voices will be heard, and we will organize from the ground up to ensure equitable rights for our community.
We are now organizing under the banner Migrant Students United Vancouver. In 2025, we made the decision to come together with MSU at SFU and combine our efforts to reach a broader network of migrant students in so-called Vancouver.
