Who are we?

Migrant Students United is a collective of current and former migrant students at the University of British Columbia who have come together to organize from the grassroots and demand equitable treatment of all migrants across so-called Canada. MSU at UBC was founded in November 2022, following the founding of MSU at SFU in 2019. 

Our Values:

1. Status For ALL, No Exclusions

2. No one is illegal. We stand against border imperialism.

3. We are on stolen land. We have a duty to act in care for our communities and environment.

4. We act in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and amplify their voices

5. We recognize additional barriers faced by racialized and low-income migrants

6. We are open to all, regardless of immigration status.

7. We are abolitionist. We don’t work with police, jails or detention centers

8. We recognize the effect of climate change on migration and displacement

9. All work is work, all migrants are essential

10. We operate under the principle of community care.
