There's a lot to do on campus when it comes to migrant rights and better living conditions for migrant student workers. This year, we're putting our effort into two on-campus campaigns:
- Informed Campus Campaign - Increasing awareness on campus around migrant justice issues.
- International Student AMS Council Seat Campaign - Increasing international student representation at UBC by introducing a seat within our student union.
We do all this while also working with the larger Migrant Workers Alliance for Change to demand Status for ALL. This includes organizing around migrant care and farm worker needs in the Vancouver metro area, from direct aid to spreading the word. Our off-campus work this year includes:
- Status For All - Organizing rallies in Vancouver, postering, delivering letters, and more!
- Fairness Agenda for Migrant Student Workers - Building and advocating for migrant student demands like fixing express entry with MSU National.
We have also worked on other campaigns in the past that are still ongoing:
- Eliminating the International Student Health Fee - Demanding the Provincial Government to abolish the MSP fee for all international students with MSU at SFU.
